  1. One might argue that “bad kids” will get in trouble regardless of what time they're out, day or night, while “good” ones could stay out for weeks and do no harm. Of course, curfews aren't only about control, but also about keeping track of potential crime victims, those who may be lost, ill or injured, etc. Should we really discard all controls over minors, as the gun lobby would have us do over their potential customer base?


  2. I don't think there should be no controls, as there is a role for government here in protecting children and maintaining public order.

    But ultimately this is a parental duty – no government program or law can replace parents being parents.
