"Beethoven" mini-review

I watched Beethoven for the first time last weekend. It is a good movie – very entertaining – but it is really dark. Much darker than I expected, especially for a Disney movie. The Mafia is testing new ammunition so a Mafia veterinarian is providing dogs to be shot in the head? Very dark. Then two Mafia thugs get mauled to death by Doberman Pinschers at the end, off-screen.

As done by the US military daily, for decades on end, using various species for target practice. Of course, that's for “national security,” and therefore praiseworthy.

  2. I have never said testing ammunition by shooting dogs (or other animals) in the head is “praiseworthy.” There is no reason to kill animals to test weapons or ammunition. There are other ways to do that, without killing anything.

Now, if you could test it on spiders, I would be all for it. 🙂

But that is just my arachnophobia talking.
